Postby G8AGP on Tue Oct 27, 2009 9:55 am

Hi, i was wondering which oil you all use for your fiesta rs turbos? Just brought a new RST and going to give her a service for piece of mind and was wondering which oil is best for the car? Im thinking Castrol Edge Sport 10w 60 please see link:

for NON overhauled turbo engines.. i would say .. a semi synthetic 10W40 (as standard for CVH engines)

If you've overhauled the engine i would reconn a full synthetic 15W50 (Mobil Racing 4T / Mobil Motorsport), 15W50 Valvoline, 10W60 Castrol RS (the OLD one)
The pro's for these oils..
- doesn't break up that fast (see the last number of the oil) compared to the 10W40 oils.

Con's
- takes longer to be on operation temprature.

For more info.. Stu devoted an article to oils in one of 2009's Fast Ford Magazines.

Owh and keep the change interval in mind.. CVH's had an interval of (10.000 kilometers) approx 6000 Miles for standard use.. personally i should cut the change interval to just 3/4 of that (4500 miles)
