Which zetec intake

Out of these two intake pipes do you think would give the best flow??
If there would be any difference at all.
First up is the standard type:

Or the K&N type:

The K&N one goes fairly flat but i cant decide.

Anyone got a good idea???

either is fine mate....the advantage that i can see with the standard type is as the air is getting closer to the TB, the air speed increases as the area is decreasing thus filling the cylinders up with more air...

however, the K+N type will also work well as the air filter flows very well - even though there COULD be a considerable amount of hot air also entering the engine

all in all...the power levels that you are at...makes no difference whatsoever

thanks for the reply's, the K&N crossover actually goes flat as it cross' the engine so may help increase air speed as you siad, but if i did use it i would still use my standard airbox with a panel filter (hate cones on zetec).
would they really collapse?? not sure if theres enough vacumm to cause that.

vacuum will be drawn in at 14.7psi of pressure...it can be enough to collapse the hose...but only if it is old and weak...and VERY weak at that...best way to tell is compare a new hose to the K+N one and see the differences in pressure needed to collapse the hose...

if i were you, i would just use a panel filter, drill the air box...or the standard plastic pipe, custom piping to the air filter and locate it in a sealed container with a cold air feed intake pipe

well the K&N wont dont work with a standard box so thats in the bin.

Currently i have a panel filter (K&N) with a sealed cold airfeed to the box, just gotta play around with things now to join it all up.
cheers for the help guys.
