fiend - The coolent should go down abit once the car has started only put about 5 - 6 litres in the haynes says 7.1. I'm not that bothered about the colour of it really lol :P

Jay - It was about 10:30 last night when i was just trying to start it and i really couldnt be bother to do any fault finding so just left it i'm almost certain its the alarm i double checked all the battery connection and earth and all seem fine. It was all working great before i took it apart and i had some problem when i bought the car with the alarm so i just turned it off by the fob and never turned it back on again but now i have disconnected the battery it must have turned back on and the fobs dont seem to work. Ratty just txt me about the fuel cut off switch will check this tonight fingers crossed its that simple i did check all the fuses as well.

should see that coolant drop once it fills the block and head :)

the colours represent its life span, red/orange coolant lasts around 5 years and blue about 3

but nothing better looking than a aqua blue colour filling the tank :Q

looks stunning under there tim! very clean
keep a rag handy to keep it that way :P

I believe they came with red colour coolant when new, if your going for the original look.

Also who leaves the same coolant in for 5 years?

I stripped the bay of mosts bits i could just leaving the block in place and i used come degreaser we have from my work which is awsome so i put this all over the bulk head etc and used a jet washer and a soapy spouge. I was amazed how well the gearbox etc came up after it as it was covers in black crap and its looking nice and clean now :)

Had someone come out last night to have a look at the alarm and hes booked to come saturday afternoon to remove it :)

Quick question can you bleed or part bleed the brake system without having the engine running?

I tried to bleed the brakes last night but it just wasnt working so took the master cylinder off and took it apart and i was shocked to see it was full of water and very rusty. I had bought this with the servo in good faith but it was rather pants cleaned it all up and put back together and still no luck so gave up for the night.

Started again this morning using a pressure bleed kit this did a better job and got air out the system but still no feel in the pedal.

By this time the alarm man had turned up as well as ratty to let a helping hand the alarm man disconnected the alarm but still no fuel pump we had 12v at the pump now but nothing else. The alarm was fully removed all wires etc then me and ratty took at look at the pump and with a wiggle of the wires and some jump leads on the battery the fuel pump came to live and she fired up :D :D :D sweet as a nut as well.

Next was to tackle the brakes tried to bleed them again but nothing so we took the master cylinder off and we put my old one back on which instantly felt better bled it form the cylinder first then used the pressure bleeder to get all the air out the system it was much better i think it need one more bleed to be perfect but least they worked.

Then i gave her a clean to get all the crap off her and she really needed it very pleased now just need to do the finishing touches now.

PS Anti freeze does NOT taste nice lol

It was on my list to do but just wanted to get it back together and MOT'd as that area is very easy to get to i will be taking the battery off and painting it myself. Its not really rusty though its been sanded and had a good coating of qurust on it so thats why its looks black etc.

Same with the small bits round the suspension tops they will get treated as well.
