Ive been trying to pop down each day now they are on with the prep work i will be going down each day just to make sure they do as i asked.

Fingers crossed should be ready for paint by end of week.

Yea thats the best thing to do. I think alot of people just have a tendancy to take shortcuts if they can.

Having said that I wouldn't imagine it would take much longer to weld that mirror area and grind the welds back and make it nice and neat than it would to mess around trying to fil it and wait for it to dry n rub back and fill again.

i could make that bit up cut out old, weld in new bit, grind and skim within a hour easy

Been down today to check up on the progress and they are getting on with it now there is still more prep work to go but they said it should be in primer for tuesday so might have it back for next weekend.

All arches are now off so i have check behind all and very happy no rot all arches are solid and its on ramps so i asked for it to be raised and i have had a good look and poke about under neath and i'm soooooo happy all sills are fine no rot anywhere it needs a good cleans and some new underseal just to make it last but all good.

Good news on the filler cap area as well looks like it had a repair panel but who ever did it put LOADS!!! of filler over it and didnt shape it or sand it back so they are sorting that bit now.

I'll pop down next week and hopefully it will be in primer

Yeas mate there is a welding company next door they are doing it monday before they finish it for primer i cut out the middle man so to speak.

Well been down today got a bit annoy'd with them as they know i dont use the car they have not been working on it for about a week now so its in the same state. however as i walked in there where two lads working on it so i had a word with them and they are doing the final prep this afternoon and it will be in primer later on today.

So i will take another trip down monday and check up on them as i want it back next week.

Nice to see you found a suitable car mate....keep up the pics its good to see another getting returned to its former glory be a belter once your finished a trip to blasters with alloy and plenty of gunk on that engine bay should see it right..

Well after my chat with them last week seems like they are getting on with it now. Car has been sanded again all over and they are sanding and preping the front arches and bonnet at the moment spoken to them and all paint has been ordered and they think it should be finished later on this week. I've heard that before!

Hope they are being careful with those uncovered recaro's, and as said, make sure they get the bodykit off before the spraying

The rear arches are off just on left at min.

As for the wing mirror its being done tomorrow now i had to chase them up.

I bet thay would ahve just left it and told you it had been welded if you hadn't kept pestering them!!

Good on you for keeping at them about it. Alot of people would have shied away and let them tell you its fine and it dont need welding.

Yep i have another FRST my 5th one now lol and i can say this is by far the best

Been looking for a mint one for a while when i saw this come up i thought i would have to have a look at it. Bit of history its been owned since new by an old woman so 1 owner from new and i must say you can tell!

Machnically its sounds what ever its needed its had starts on the button, steering, clutch, brakes everything all works brill. No knocks or ratlles.

Interior is FANTASTIC!!!! and i really mean that the steering wheel is like its never been touched it has the original gearknob some wear on this but still good, The seats are again like new. Carpets all very clean so tears rips or anything also orginal stereo.

The body work this is where it needs some TLC there is very little rust on the car few tiny little scabs here and there nothing major but the petrol cap has been done in the past and it was done to a very poor standard its been filled and painted in what i would say is beige lol

Plans are as follows:
Paint work will be done within the next week or two going to bodyshop next week.
Refurb the alloys
Clean engine bay as this needs a very good clean
Service engine
cambelt change
exhaust as it has some mild steel system on it none ford.
