Glad i am not the only one, who has to suffer :D

What a nice thing to do on new year night

55 degrees? was it actually that hot in there? :-?

The aircon at work failed one of the server rooms at the airport the other day, but it never got that hot in there? :aaah:

we've got 16 servers in there, and two aircon units cooling the room, one has lost all power, the second had iced up trying to compensate. i didn't find out until two days after it went, but yeah, it was 55 degrees celcius in the room according to the thermometer on the wall, really bloody hot lol luckily none of the servers were damaged!

If none of the servers were damaged and they hadn't shut down, then the thermometer is lying.

Also, if it took two days to find out then you really need some kind of environment monitoring in there!!

Environment monitoring was always on the cards however some of the servers didn't play ball when enabling SNMP!

I have no reason to distrust the thermometer, 5 of the servers had hit the thermal protection, the others were still up.

Environment monitoring for the room doesn't need SNMP on the servers.

We use these - http://www.jacarta.co.uk/interseptor.htm
