Who has a standard compression 2.0 ZT?

Postby JayC on Tue May 01, 2007 5:18 pm

I was just browsing Megasquirtmaps.com's forum and found a map for a standard 2.0 Blacktop Zetec running ERST manifold and a T3, RS1800 inlet and Beige injectors.

Im sure phase 1,2 and the Blacktop Zetec all had 10:1 compression ratio, The poster states 14psi max but the car was mapped to 10psi.

Ive asked what else hes done to the engine but I dont think hes very regular (ooer)

So who's running a standard compression setup? And does anyone have any thought's on the idea, preferably not 'ide love a ZT, but im to young to insure one' :Q

Thanks in advance chaps

Hi Oranoco :) I thought the same thing, I have also asked him if hes running on any high octane fuel but it would proberly be from additives.

Also he hasent mentioned ARP bolts.. I would think that would be the first port of call.. but no mention of it.

I've seen this map as well mate as i'm looking for a good one for my MS unit. I cant see the standard comp holding 10psi - 14psi for to long thats pushing it abit that. Are you looking for a ZT basemap?

well i dont have the zt yet, I will proberly get the wossner pistons if youve heard of them and the ms will just run my 2.0 for the meantime and wont pose any problems when i turbo the engine.

I dont think its worth trying standard comp its defo gonna end in disaster.

my idea is the wossner low comp pistons
ARP bolts standard rods and a t3 and rs500 or simular I/C then i can keep the zetec rad over the frst item.

i want to do it on a budget, but theres budgeting and blowing things for fun, im pretty convinced i can do it for around £1000.. maybe running into a little more with clutches etc but no more than £1500.

are you running ZT mrorange?
