I have both front and rear Sparco strut braces

I personaly think it has made a difference, it has stiffened the front and rear of the car which has obviously improved the handling of the car, especially if you have a couple of mates in the car.

cheers

I've got both front and rear OMP strut braces. The front makes the most difference, with greatly improved turn-in. The rear one just helps to stiffen/sharpen the handling (although my rear cage also helps with that!).

OMP front strut brace is about £45, rear about £40, both from Demon Tweaks mail order.

Do you have any idea what 178.8mph feels like in a Fiesta? 2000 lb of pressure per square inch per second pushing back on your face. It feels like god himself is trying to rip the skin off your skull while someone lands a 747 on your chest.

Ade has a chromed front strut brace which came with his car when he bought it. On close inspection it would appear to be an OMP spec item, chromed, which you can do yourself!!

Mine's actaully a Brooklyn Ford Item, I have the receipt from 1998.

The Finis code indicates that it's an RS item, I believe Brooklyn's own.

Looks like the OMP, but came chromed, cost about £60.

Discontinued now though.

Do you have to tell the insurance company, about strut braces??

Does it increase the premium??

I'll try before i buy i think.

It would be hard to convince my insurance company that a lifejacket aids safety when sailing.

Not good, i lose my temper pretty quick, especially with these muppets.

Although i'll give it a go.

JJ How much do you reckon, it would cost to have the swage line removed, ford badge removed, and the windscreen washers moved and holes filled over?

Also is it worth having this done, as ive just had a brand new bonnet.

Would a rear strut brace be strong enough to strap a pair of 3-point harnesses to, for rear and front seats? I.e. will it take the strain of 4 people in a crash? How about just for the two rear seat passengers, since the fronts are bolted into the rear click-clunk-thingy bolt holes.

From now on, that bolty thingy, for the seatbelt, will be known as a CLICK-CLUNK-THINGY
