Who uses???
Hi,
I know i have touched this before but just want to get a clearer picture.
Who has used or is using heat wrap on a mild steel zorst manifold??
Has anyone had problems with it or noticed it causing the manifold to rust more??
Just want to see what peps think before i give it a go.
many thanks

The paint my Ashley 4 branch came with burnt off. I nearly messed myself when smoke started coming out from under the bonnet
Wrapping will help drop the underbonnet temps but may trap moisture against the exhaust. Saying that though it's not about to rust through in 6 months

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

As said, head wrap will trap moisture in there and get the corrosion process on the go, not something you want! It'd be cheaper to remove it every 6 months or so to respray it, assuming you've used VHT paint. If you haven't, that's why it's coming off

sailorbob :The wrap ages so you might find you can't unwrap and reuse it, I remember mine almost falling off when I came to change the downpipe, must have been on at least two years though.
When I said "remove and respray it every 6 months" I was talking about the manifold, not heat wrap
