Will I need an uprated master cylinder if.....

Postby wyll_2k on Fri Mar 18, 2005 9:51 pm

...I'm changing me std 1.1 front brakes to Sapph cossie ones? As thats what i'll be doing soon.

The rear are still std drums, but I may change the rears to st170 discs n calipers (is it a good idea to?).

At the moment the eninge is still a 1.1, but i will eventually get a 2litre in there, and i guess if i have to do the rears then i will - but are there other alternatives for the rears? Cheers 4 info

You won't "need" an uprated master cylinder for just fronts, but front and backs yes....

Also, you don't "need" rear discs with a 2.0L, hardly any braking is done at the rear, so save your pennies for elsewhere

Yep, upgraded fronts no problem you will just get more travel on the pedal

Upgraded fronts and rears equals almost total pedal travel without full brakes and has to be upgraded
