Wiring up a system
Alrite lads just wondering i have got 1 amp 2 6*9's and a sub how do i wire them up? the amp has no sub socket it says on the instructions to connect them to the negative and plus of the speakers. Could i not just run them straight to the amp?. In the diagrams it says something about a capacitor and a coil i have neither of these will i realy need them?

You need a live to the amp, negative from amp to ground, then wire the sub, by matching the impedence with the wiring choice its in the manual
Sell the 6&9's thats what the subs for, you do not need a capacitor or coil! Whats the spec of sub and amp?

Easy
Power cable from Batt to your amp (4gauge)?
Earth
Power remote cable from ur headunit(turns on the amp when headunit is turned on)
Speaker cable from speakers to amp
get another amp for ur sub unless ur amp is power full enough to power 6x9 and a sub
or
wire the 6x9 to ur headunit
and power the sub via the amp
or bridge the amp to run 6x9s and sub.

You cant match max power ratings, you need to know the RMS
Seriously you WILL regret buying the 6&9's the novelty runs out after about a week, once you realise they distort and ruin the sub bass Sell them and get a decent set of front speakers, if you dont believe me find out what the SQ and SPL boys use in their setups and they wont have 6&9's or rear speakers

To save yourslef a whole load of grief and heartache before fitting any audio equipment get an alarm on the car. I'v elost count of the number of times people have put a system in their cars with no alarm and then wondered why it's been stolen.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

Good stuff mate
Still can't gaurantee the scum will leave it alone but you're more likely to keep it all with an alarm on.

the 6by9"s are in the boot ?
oh dear, ok first of all, 6by9's are normally used for rear fill for back seat passengers and to produce a small amount of bass where there is no subwoofer present. By using a full frequency speaker in the boot under the shelf, you will have a muffled sound stage, and the speaker will sount like its playing behind a wall, which in effect it is. If you want the best from the speakers, build them into the main chambre of the car, without a barrier, as you will benefit from the rear fill then for rear passengers. Or remove the shelf altogether, however then you need to account for thieving scum. The only other thing you would do is fade out the rear speakers when the shelf is in, and fade them back in when the shelf is out.
