Wonky Steering Wheel

Postby fiend on Sun Jun 24, 2007 1:46 am

When my wheels are straight the steering wheel sits very off center too the right, so today I took the wheel off to put it back on so its straight.

But it still doesn't sit straight, I got it closer to the middle but its off center to the left. As its a Hexagon shape that the wheel goes onto.. not a spline so can't make small adjustments.

Its a XR2i and the factory steering wheel, with 15" TSW Stealth alloys.

You need to spend £40 or so and have your alignment done properly

he said get the tracking done properly :bonkers:
but yeah if its not that u got something bent, use somewhere with laser tracking if poss but imo the accuracy is only as good as the person checking/adjusting it. and if your wishbones are shot best to replace them first or it will never be accurate

Your car: CAR

Postby fiend on Mon Jun 25, 2007 10:07 pm

Will go to A14 Tyres, its a local place that do a discount for the local 'modified' cars.

Also need to get my exhaust refitted as its blowing, where its been badly fitted by some idiot.. which they will be able to sort out hopefully.

Costs £40.. they do it with lasers, and do the following [so Im told]

right Toe
right Camber
right Castor
set back left
set back right
right offset
left offset
left Toe
left Camber
left Castor
