Looks like a poor eBay clone that doesn't seem to offer anything better or be based on superior technology.
What's the point in making the "second best" auction site?
At the moment there is nothing to make people use that instead of eBay. Why not improve in all the areas eBay fails? Or produce something radically different? Go for a specific market that's not yet widely covered, eg. mobile phone only related items?
Seems like a huge waste of time to me

I have to agree with the above, and i hate to say it because you're team's obviously put in a vast amount of time and investment. How exactly do you think you're going to compete with the multi-million dollar marketing capital of ebay/paypal? even if you want to be the 20th largest in the UK you still have to compete with the industry as a whole. Yahoo! had an excellent auction site which was as active as eBay, but they shut it down in the UK (maybe in the US too) about 3 years ago because of the obvious competition/consolidation in the industry. As an industry matures it thins out - that's the rule. It ludicrous to bum rush the show and think you can take it on once it's already been thrashed out and all the players are in place. at the moment the online commerce thing goes to Amazon, auctions are all eBay and mp3 are Apple iTunes. Anyone wanting to unseat these entrenched behemoths need a ridiculous amount of muscle and investment behind them, and then it's a good 5 years of relentless attack. The fact is, there is no 2nd place - it's a numbers game. if you don't have the subscribers and the content it's game over before you begin. hope I'm wrong and you've got other cards to play, but there have been about 20 major attempts at the auction market since Yahoo! and all of them languished because they had nothing to offer that wasn't already available...

Hi guys,
Thanks for your feedback and yes i was expecting feedback like that, its not unusual as the task isn't a easy one to complete !
Beating Ebay is obviously very hard but i know alot about Ebay and i also know what they have done, what they have stopped and who they have bought out and why.
I have ALOT of different functions to Ebay, im also alot cheaper but you would expect that anyway due to my size / scale at the moment. The site has only been up 1 week and its growing constantly and im very pleased with it
I have LOADS and LOADS to do and i have many Ebay members joining as they are pleased with different functions to Ebay and also they will be helping me grow as a site
I am offering members a great incentive and great offers this attracts them from Ebay also ive had many members join due to the price increase constantly happening on Ebay and also the troubles they are / have experienced. I lost £300+ on Ebay and they didn't even care which i found a little upsetting.
It will take time and hard work but i hope to get bigger and better and it takes you guys to help aswell by bidding and selling etc

THIS AUCTION IS FOR INFORMATION ON HOW TO GET A BRAND NEW CAMERA PHONE FOR £20!
These are brand new,
retail boxed handsets with a full warranty and free delivery.
They are SIM free, which means you can use any SIM card.
You wont need to sign up for a pay monthly contract and anyone can apply.
This is definately NOT a MLM or pyramid scheme. MLM schemes are devious and well thought out marketing plans where commission is paid to agents for starting the schemes. Many pyramid schemes and many links to sites offering such items are illegal and misleading unlike this link.
IMPORTANT: You are buying information which will tell you how to obtain a luxury mobile phone for just £20.
YOU ARE NOT buying the phone itself.
I do not supply the phones,
I am simply offering information on how to obtain them.
This is a brand new UK company, which specialises in mobile phones and is affiliated with one of the UKs leading mobile phone web sites.
The company makes money by selling freeware CD-ROMs and by advertising other mobile phone deals on both its web site and on the CD-ROMs. 100% of the profit is used to pay for mobile phones, which they give away as free gifts.
Do you want full details?
Buy now and Ill send you everything you need to make an informed choice about whether this is for you.
It is 100% legal, it is operated by a highly reputable and established mobile phone company.
I thought this was dodgy at first but it is genuine and I am now awaiting my phone to be delivered.
YOU ARE BIDDING FOR AN INFORMATION on how to get this phone for £20. You are not bidding for the phone itself.

SPo0n :chimp2k2 :so you have to pay to sell something on there whats the point when ebay is free
ebay isn't free - they charge for listings and take a cut of the winning money i think.
i thought it was free to put something for auction.
but they can't take a cut from your winning bid because you don't use ebay to pay the person

GREG 1 : I lost £300+ on Ebay and they didn't even care which i found a little upsetting.
So when the seller of "sim free mobile" or suchlike does a runner with my £300 what would you propose to do about it?
Assuming the seller has used fake details (including a spoofed or near untraceable IP).

Well.... (takes a big breathe)
Ok, Ebay isn't free infact Ebay is very expensive but what do you expect when you are selling to a very large audience, ok mine isn't big (yet) but it takes time, Ebay had to start somewhere as did the yahoo auction site (which picked up after a while) and Ebay noticed this and bought it out !
Thanks for the nice comments though from some peeps !
Ebay costs to sell (which mine doesn't as you recieve £40's worth of free credit which you can see in your uk flava account) also Ebay takes a cut of the sale (which is very frustrating) and thats something i don't do !
I have many good features, some better than Ebay and some great ones on the way but yes its gonna take time but i need peeps like you to help !
I have loads of car bits going on the site, i have ps2 games on the site with no reserve and some nice valentines bits that some girl put on there to treat ya partners with not to mention some nice / cheap clothes !!
The url "www.ukflava.com" was something i bought ages ago and its kinda continued and stuck with me so i kept it otherwise i would of lost money, i expect i will buy a few more url's later and link them up, something more appropriate "auctions" etc
Anyway please sign up and get selling, bidding and buying, its has some great features some better than ebay and you dont get ripped off either you can see everything in your ukflava account (which ebay dont have either)
take care guys and hope to see you out in your turbos "vrrmmmm tish"

still not clear how you're actually gonna promote this thing and try and grab the sort of mindshare you need. have you actually thought this through? either you have some very wealthy venture capitalists behind you or this'll go the way of ebid, qxl, freeserve, and every other failed auction attempt. bear in mind that an auction site can ONLY function if you have tens of thousands of members - it's not like any other membership site you can start on a small scale. hope you prove me wrong but if you haven't done your market research you might wanna reconsider before you throw all your money away.
