XBox 360 help

Postby Sphinx on Tue Jun 30, 2009 2:46 pm

OK, firstly I need to explain that I'm clueless about this kind of thing so bare with me.

When I got my xbox I needed to create a profile just to start playing, so I just used my name. THEN the other week it broke so I had to go through the microsoft repair/service website; in order to get things going I needed to create a 'live' user name, obviously a lot were taken so I chose a different one.
It's come back all fixed (yaaay) but now I have 2 profiles one there, the original one with all my saved progress and the 'live' one which has nothing saved.
Is there a way to transfer the original saved data to the new 'live' account name?

Yeh
but first have you paid for gold yet or not ???
if you haven't
just crate your original profile in to a live one
just press Big X on controller why you are signed in and press join xbox live and follow on screen instructions

The man speaketh the truth, delete the live one with nothing on it, log into your username, and go from there :)

yep it correct, your first month should be free too mate :) but if you have just your name as the profile it will more than likely ask for a new profile name to be used! :D

Ak OK I'll give that a try, cheers guys :D

The thing broke and when I got it back they gave me a free 1 month gold live membership card...then 3 days later it broke again, so I got another card. Come to think of it I've got one in the original box :-?
Do these expire? and how much is it join the online thingy? any difference in the levels?
I can't stress enough how rubbish I am with stuff like this  I bought the xbox last year and it's my first games console so that should give you an idea.

no they dont expire mate think its roughly 35 quid a year mate cant remember as i have been in holland and i was paying 20 euro for 3 months!

There are 2 levels silver and gold silver is free but you cant play the games online and are limited to what you can do regarding free downloads of demos. I think you must be gold to download the newest demos! also when you first setup your online account it will automaticly give you 1month gold membership free then when that runs out use your ticket then after that runs out use your other ticket!! :D
