XR2 Bhp power

What sort of power did the xr2 engine have? Like bhp etc?

im pritty sure as standard the XR2 is 96 BHP

Earlier models were 96bhp, later models were 90bhp due to a different carb.

bhp differs from proper cvh head to lean burn heads, early heads were proper hemi heads and flowed better, and easier to flow when modded, and gave 5-6 bhp over lean burn varient as standard

aaahh, i didn;t know that about the earlier heads.
so i stuck an earlier (a-c reg) carb and the earlier head on my 1.6s i'd be looking roughly another 10bhp u reckon?

urm, lol i`ve just got up, i can`t remember the cross over dates, i hope u aint fitted a early head to lean burn engine, you`ll be down on compression, or mite just be injection :rolleyes: its late and i`ve just got up, lol max power knackered me out

did u have flat top pistons? was the head u fitted lean burn/heart shaped combustion area in the head?

if u have flat top pistons u need lean burn head, if u have domed pistons u need proper cvh head
