xr2 carb on 1.6S?

Postby leafy1600 on Mon May 26, 2003 10:10 pm

hi all,
just wondering if the xr2 carb would replace the carb on my 1.6s and would it bring any performance increases?
thanks,

There is now carb on an xr2i. Its injection, hence the "i". Maybe you are thinking of the xr2 carb, in which case I have no idea. :)

errrrr...... no, as it IS the carb of the xr2..... its the same engine isnt it? had some spare... used it in the new model for the "sport" variation.

I think the older carb on the XR2 provided 96bhp instead of the 90bhp the 1.6s and later XR2's had

Yer thats true if you can find one then you get an instant power increase for very little out lay, the problem is finding an old xr2 A-C reg and then finding it with a decent carb!

Yeah they utterly suck on cold mornings. But once they are warmed up they are fine and provide just as good a ride as injection engines
