Re: my new run around, and my next project, mk2 xr2
Good luck with the project Jay - the MK2 XR2 is one of my all time favourites and one of the best cars I've ever owned.
I had and still have got a lot of brand new MK2 Fiesta parts - I've got loads of brand new rear bumper reflectors which you need and I've got a MK2 Fiesta LHS Front Wing and Lower Back panel for a base model if your interested..

Re: my new run around, and my next project, mk2 xr2
working on her again today in between the rain, and unfortunatly found a bit of rust on the floor right next to the jacking point today (hidden by the under seal untill pushed, lol) so plated it inside and out, all the front work is done now apart from the shocks, im waiting on some to come over
went over the whole floor too to make sure no more bits were hidden and thankfully there wasnt
new cam belt and alternator belt fitted today, cam belt would of been done anyway but more so as i had a new spare one, and the new alternator belt came with the car so rude not to fit it really.
freash 50/50 anti freeze mix in etc, and i discovered something i had completely forgot all about too today
i got some xr2i wheels last nignt (off adamfrst on here) as the pepper pots need a couple of tyres, and i went to fit them and when i went to put the first bolt in it twigged they wont fit, the wheels will fit the mk2 etc, but, the tappered washer on the wheels bolts (mk2 bolts, mk3 nuts) is smaller than the tappered washer on the mk3 nuts, meaning the holes in the 2i wheels are bigger than the pepper pots and the xr2 bolt will only just grip it with about 1mm all round, not good, and no where near safe people, so im in a bit of a catch, do i roll the tyres off and fit them to the pepper pots (got a manal tyre machine) or do i go to scrappy and try and find wheels bolts off something that will fit, course they would be same lenth and thread but will need the bigger washer
i dunno, cant belive i forgot about that , still on a brighter note the naff passanger headlight is now sorted, in true form of fixing not replacing, i just happened to have the backing off a mk2 headlight, which was passanger side too, i remember keeping it as the glass got broke and i thought about using it as a air intake (when i was thinking of turboing a mk2 many years ago) but got the frst , anyway, cut long story short, the chrome inside was still very good, and the glass off the naffed one came off easy, in fact so easy im shocked it never fell off bring the car home se was siliconed on to the good backing and the good adjusters taking from the naffed light and put on the now good light, so the passanger light problem is now sorted.
i know i have no new pics for you but theres not much point really, at the mo anyway.
thats it , que the comments like, tight c**t, etc

Re: my new run around, and my next project, mk2 xr2
the colour , well i guess it could of been radiant red not rosso red
yeah the dead locks in the door etc are a bit of a pain but easy fix, as it got a bit of grot on the boot lid and the drivers door is a bit rusty at the bottom too, the only problem is they drilled a dirty great hole about 12mm into the door shut rear quater side, and the mk2 have the vents in that part unlike the mk3,but still if and when i do sort this one out after my rs is on road that will all be sorted.
and no, i wont forget about the rs mate, this ones carb, and take a little to start (as the auto chokes been replaced with a manl one thats a bit w@nk!) so i think of the rs everyday now, turn the key and the rs starts and ticks over nice, this one, being carb takes a bit more effort
yeah its cracked undere the tape, its really the corner bit that can be replaced, ther main part does have a small crack but the corners worse and you know what there like with MOT's and sharp edges etc, didnt wanna fail it just over a cracked corner bit or no refelctor , the refelctor on the passage side was a cut down one from a old light board off my dads trailer, dont look nice, but does the job to keep mot and plod happy untill i get another corner bit
but that wasnt the picture i was on about, have a ganda at the first one again

Good news its got 12 months MOT now mate, must feel good to be back in one again
Sounds like you've been busy sorting things on it,
now take it out on the military road and open her up

sort term plans, hmm, sort the brakes as they are a bit $hit, and see what i can do about the head lights, the MK2 has never been a goodun for headlight brightness, although enough to pass the MOT and fine for lit roads, but these country roads over with that are pitch black there toss
and what drink is this then....
oh, the one you said you would buy me
