wow havent seen this before !
another mk2 on here :Q

Lots of work going on - Never seen a throttle cable go through an air intake before ... very ingenius.
Love the clean carpet - excellent idea with the pressure washer

cool to see the home made tank - im using a new cfi fuel tank with external sierra cosworth fuel pump.
make sure you got no leaks between them welds !

Not checked this for a long time. Good progress there.

I done the zetec transplant to my mk2, if your stuck with some bits most things are covered in my thread. :)

I have a question though - whats your method for re-furbing the kit? Looks like new there in those pics.

Gareth.

Totally awesome.

Great work you have been doing there. RE the cyliner bracket, im sure ive read somewhere, although never checked myself, but a base model bracket dose not require modifying?

Are you running cosworth calipers with rs2k discs aswel?

Gareth.

Awesome looking XR2 mate. The engine install looks so clean.

Black2 - You don't need to mod non XR2 reservoir brackets for a MK1 mondeo servo :)

Postby rs-tom on Wed May 04, 2011 10:10 am

well not done a hell of alot on the xr as i lost my job in january but recently started a new job on better money and my plans for the xr have changed a bit.

i live about 1/4 of a mile from donnington park and loving motor sport more n more everyday . we have a focus st and a 2lt mk3 fez as dailys so decided to build the xr into a road legal track toy nothing to serious or exspensive just fun around donnington and other tracks.

on the car side of things iv had bin sorting my garage out and doing body prep as i wanna spray the car myself

started off by building a bench as not having one is a killa . cost me nearly 2 weeks dole lol

Image

Image

n a good sort out

before

Image

after
Image

Image

i
then started to prep the car wich i think is a mammoth task i know now why having a car painted cost so much

Image

Image

more stone chip

Image
Image

Image

more prep

Image

Image

Image
Image

all sound deadening is up

Image

thats it for now more wet flatting ect ect then primer .

makes ya feela good when the workshops all tidy and together, well does me anyway

preping a car for paint is one of the jobs i hate, but as you say thats why its expensive, as theres where the laubor is mainly, and the finished job is only as good as the prep put into it.

still coming on well there mate, it will all be worth it when ya done fella :)

you selling ay of the bits ya stipped out? like parcel shelf supports, rear belts etc? if so PM me with what ya got and prices mate, i will be after some bits for mine when i get cracking on it again
