XR2i 16V - ABS?

Postby Vaughny on Tue Aug 08, 2006 11:19 pm

Can anyone tell me if the 16V version of the XR2i has ABS or not?

Thanks.

Might have been an optional extra?
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

My 16v has got it, the mechanical version too, which I thinks good as you can change how early it comes on, which is great IMO! :D

Hi,
You adjust the ABS by adjusting how slack/tight the ABS Modulator belt is.
you do this by adjusting two bolts.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n1/Wooshy_mike/Picture_001.jpg

Undo Bolt A slightly and then undo bolt B in the picture, then move bolt B "backwards" Or "Forwards", Tightening or Slacking the belt.
Having the belt tight means the ABS is quite egar.
If its quite slack then quite the oposite happens and you can travel further down the pedal before the ABS kicks in, If its too slack then your ABS light will be on perminatley,
I hope this helps.

Mike.
