Hi I have a 1991 xr2i and nether the boot release or the heated front screen work. I've been told the two could be connected does anyone have any ideas how it could be resolved.

I would check the fuse for the heated screen and the connections to the screen under the a piller trim and check if they are ok!!!

The boot pop fault could be the rear connection pins to the plate on the body checked if they are not corroded !!! Or It could be the ignition green relay on the back of the fuse box, common fault it melts !!!
