hi all .. i have a ford fiesta mk3 xr2i 16v d.o.h.c 1992 and im just looking for some advice really.. as im modyifieing it. what would be the best uprated cluch kit to use ive tryed black diamond the other month and it wasnt too good... also what would be the best cams uprated to fit on my car.. kent... piper? also ive recently fitted a pipercross induction kit but im not getting the full effects from it... eg theres no deep roar as i thought they would of been.. its deffo added a few bhp on as i can tell ..but the deep roar aint there.. maybe i need to fit a clod air feed but i aint got no room to fit one.. any ideas? also the black diamond clutch which is in now seems to be playing up im getting alot of grinding noises while driving and while idleing.. when i put my clutch in the grinding stops a bit.. but like when im dropping gears while driving theres like a grind noise could this be the clutch plate or maybe the thrust bearing and how could i stop this? if anyone has any advice id really apprieciate it.. links for the clutch cams ect would be great... thanx maybe if yall new of any other modifications to improve power.. im not ready for a turbo cov just yet as i need to concentrate on other thingsa first ;)

unless your running big power a standard clutch will do the job just fine.

i shouldnt imagine an induction kit will increase the bhp at all. a zetec with an induction kit wont sound much louder than normal either. i would recomend saving the £2-300 you would spend on cams and fit a 2.0 from a mondeo, its a straight swap for your current engine and will give you more power than anything else could for that much money.

Not sure if black diamond clutch's are any good think you could use a standard focus rs one :-? But the noise is the thrust bearing did you change it when you did the clutch? Air fliter noise can change depending on the way it's fitted and yes best to have a good load of cold air for it, im a big piper fan as ive heard of kent one's not lasting

thanks guys... yeah i had a full new clutch replaced black diamond clutch plate/ cover/ and thrust bearing came new.. im not sure why it making a grinding noise maybe the guy at the garage hasnt fitting summin right? theres alot more torque with the black rather than the standard but its just seemed to of worn real quick... for the pipercross i have its improved performance but the heat of my engine aint doing it no favours so do u think if i bought some morrete headlamp twin conv and do a cold air feed through the left side bulb section? ... are these them alloys you were on about too m8 the comp ones.. i think these are for rally racing though? could i still fit them? > http://www.comp.co.uk/wheels/wheels.asp ... ort+Wheels 5th picture down ;)

sounds to me like the grinding may be your gearbox as it quietens when you press the clutch in.
