XR2i on -40mm Springs - Where Next?

Postby Rawkus on Mon Mar 03, 2008 10:34 pm

My XR2i is currently sitting snuggly down on -40mm Wietec springs and although the look is spot on, the ride is a bit harsh!
Wheels are RS2000 5 spokes on 195/45 tyres.
Uprated shocks seem the obvious route here, but what else should i look at other than the Weitec range to achieve a smoother ride?
Also any other mods i should consider?

Is it really low and riding on the bump stops? Raise the car, higher profile tyres. All the mods you have done engender a harsh ride.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

I inherited the modified springs but the car was on 185/55/R14 tyres and i've only recently changed the wheels because the 14s were made of 2 different pairs, not a set of 4!
I knew that going to 45 profiles would mean a harsher ride than 50s, but the new wheel size and tyres have made a great difference.
I would like to know what shocks i could add and what further mods i could undertake to improve to go-kart handling further!
