Postby MattPym on Fri Nov 17, 2006 10:10 pm

Does any one know is it possible to put aftermarket shocks meant for a XR2i/FRST onto a 1.3 fiesta or do modifications have to be made, And if so what are the differences :-? ????

Cheers
Matt

If i remember correctly.... i was looking into this for my 1.25 fiesta, does it have an airbag? if so its a mk 3.5 therefore you will need to get the shocks from a 3.5 SI model, there were some changes to the shell and/or the suspention of the car in the later years to the mk3, so early suspention wont fit.
hope this helps.

To upgrade your handling ten fold, get some standard (simply because they're cheaper) Si shocks and springs for the front and the back. This wont do much but with the Si struts you will then be able to bolt up an Si/XR/RS front anti roll bar. Also get the lower wishbone crossbrace and it will transform the handling!

You can then later on upgrade the shocks and springs. Or do it at the same time just steer clear of Gmax.

Because they are the biggest pile of poo on the market. Their manufacturing standards are well below par.
