Does it fit? I think i recall some difference in the hub of a mk3.5 to a mk3 xr2i ...or something.

and a '95 M reg is a mk3.5 isnt it?

You're correct mate. The hub-carrier of the "mk 3.5" (1994> fiestas) has a larger diameter mounting hole in it for the strut which is therefore thicker than those of pre-1994 fiestas.

If you try to fit mk3 struts into mk3.5 hub carriers, then they will not be positively located OR clamped securely and youll probably end up on your roof in a ditch! :aaah: :lol:
