i wanna put an 8v xr2i engine in me 1400 si (cant go for zrtrc only 17 )
how easy will it be? what will i need for the conversion?
any help will be much appreciated.

you will need,
engine, gearbox, loom, ecu, fuel tank,
(as yours is a 1.4, you won't need radiater)
I got it all for sale for a measely sum of £250

You might be able to get away with just changing the lump and injectors, and having a Unichip (I know...) to adjust the fuelling, although it's a long shot. You've basically got a derivative of the CVH in there already and a lot of the running systems will be common... but Mark Stewart's your man for those answers

if u can prove the engien is from a car before cats were interduced then ull b ok if not then i dont think it will work as this was one of the reasons the 8v was not used as it would not comply with emission laws set after 92
