ive got an xr2i engine and box for dropping into my fez what would be the first step towards 150 horses from it. ive got a straight through exhaust and ashley manifold for it.

You will struggle to get 150bhp from it with out nos. 130 would be a more reachable target and that would be with stage 2 head, cam, chip, 4 branch etc.

Which engine as the XR2i came with 2?

1.6 8v CVH

1/8 16v Zetec

Well i have got stage 3 Head : Bigger Valves port and polish, gas flowed, uprated cam, Superchip, 4-1 manifold, cossie air filter!

hoping for about 120 - 150 bhp :)

I got my old 8v 2i to 130bhp with headwork, cam & vernier, 4 branch manifold and a proper custom exhaust system, induction kit, fuel pump and a chip

It was expensive getting mine to 130 :lol:

Head - £350
Cam - £240
Chip - £200
Vernier - £85
Manifold - £100
Exhaust - £400
Induction kit - £70
Fuel pump - £100

Total - £1545

Bar the exhaust that was DIY so if you aren't DIYing it add a bundle for labour :o

Cost of mine so far is

all below plus VAT

Head - £495
Pistons - .5 oversize :) £212
ARP Bolts - 76.50
Cam - £150
Double valve springs - £86
Solid Lifters - £160
4-1 Manifold £122
Superchip - £35
Induction kit - £70
s/s exhaust £80

and there are still many more new bits! :o :o :cry:

Total - 1500+

Expensive yes! but i dont do it to make money i do it cause i love it! :D
