I have a xr2i 1992 1.6 and i was wondering if it would be difficult to set in a escort rs turbo engine but only the block,ex manifoild and the head and use the efi that`s on my fiesta now.
Sorry about my bad english but sadly i am from norway and there is not 1 frst in this country. :aviator:

yes mate it will fit but if you are on EFI use your existing head (as long as its 8v) and you should be alright

the reason for using your existing head is because of the injector positioning

im not 100% certain about the inlet manifold of your xr2i being the same as the FRST though so just double check that to

oh and your management might need a slight modification but again im not 100% about this either

HTH

u would need some modifications done, the escort block doesnt have a CPS. so the ecu would have no reference for the timing.. best bet would be to fit the full escort engine, or get hold of a fiesta turbo bottom end. :Q

Could the ERST pistons/rods etc, not be used in the XR2i block?

so i have to install the hole escort engine. Sure there are no other way to do it. What about just put the turbo rigth on the original engeine and buy a thicker head packer? Would that be possible?
