1.6? I may be wrong, but it should be a 1.8 EFi if it's from an XR3i?.. a 1.6EFi is from an Si.

Aftermarket exhaust and air filter would be the first option to help improve performance.

Then.. RS1800 ecu, maf, 2L zetec throttle body and cams from either an RS1800 or 2L zetec.. I don't actually know if they are different though? I'm probably missing something from that list.

It's almost certainly a late Mk4 XR3i motor which is a 1.6 8v EFi unit.

I managed to get a smidge over 130bhp from my XR2i (same engine) using a 4 branch manifold, proper custom exhaust (not a ch4vy PowerFlow), worked head, cam and vernier pulley, chip and some good setting up.

I got the head from a company that advertised in REVS years ago and the cam kit and vernier was all purchased from my local friendly tuner. I built the head up and then fitted it all up over the weekend and then returned the old head in exchange. Head was £370 if I remember correctly and then I got £40 back when I sent my old head to them.

In those days it was PTS but my business in full goes to Rob at SCC Performance in St Albans. (01727 867747).

Not sure if there is anybody nearer you but any issue of Fast or Perfomance Ford will have adverts in there to get the kit mail order
