If ya gonna do a job, do it properly...... :)
Take out your insurance and then amend it when you get the new engine

Thing is iv been looking for a while for an engine most people say they have no knoledge of details, miles etc! as there all insurance write offs! but one place let me hear it running and garanteed it for 30 days? ud not b happy with that? or would u take the risk on anouther engine u dont know nothing about? there rare engines!!

These engines are definately not rare mate. I would have thought the answer was obvious given your two options. Buy the one with the gaurantee that you have heard running and know it's mileage rather than the other one which you know nothing about.

Personally I'd wait for another engine but using your options go for the first one.

It's just common sense

i agree, but would u deffintly want to see it running, went back and looked at that engine and it wouldnt start... the guy at the other place has about 4 engines! there from insurance write offs... he said hes never had one come back but he would change it so that i had a woprking one if any problems did arise! but it would mean me taking the angine out... so i wouldnt know untill i bolted it in my car!!!! ill just put my insurance start date back 2 weeks i can always bring it forward that way ill have no rush!! i will find a decent one this saturday!! sorry for rambling on!!!!!!!!!!!

I would wait for one that you can see running if possible but I have bought engines in the past without hearing them run and they've been fine. Bit of a gamble though really.

the thing is a good std 2l has 130bhp 0 2 60 in 9.4 (in a mondeo si)
and the rs180 std has 130bhp 0 2 60 in 8.3
the thing with the 2l is more tou
so i think 0 2 60 in about 7.9 that's as good a frst
but ur car will run all day and night and not go BANG :D

(but that wot i think)

O and that a std 2l
the best 2l N/A can get up 2 250bhp :D
but that cost a lot

But thats the risk mate..

Buying and using 2nd hand engines is a massive risk, when you consider the time and effort needed to take out/put in an engine..

We can only advise you with common sense mate, if it works, use it, if you know nothing about it , steer clear..

There are no real easy guarantees! UNLESS you build the enginer yourself, or get it REBUILT professionally and fitted and get a guarantee

I know you want this conversion, but you've been posting loads of the same thing in all the forums, you've got to bite the bullet mate

It seems to me that you have already made up your mind. You want to buy a certain engine and you are looking for people to agree with you.

It will fit, but it probably wont last a great amount of time, plus the ratios aint great..

Personally i would fit a ERST Gearbox with an LSD..
