Im doing my hunt for my car insurance on my first car.Id like to see what quotes you lot are getting so i could have something to compare to.
Passed my test august 11th, and i have passplus.
Im 19. Have a '95 5door 1.3 fiesta LX.
My Cheapest quote over the phone was from highway, £1388 tpft. But this is at my parents place in barking&dagenham.I stay in kingston now and will need to put the insurance here.It will be cheaper at kingston too.

an online quote from quinn-direct gave me just over £1300 for barking&dagenham. With kingston its £1230.
My room mate is being quoted about £400 :-? but she has been driving for 2years.

So how about everyone else, what kind of quotes are you lot getting/have?? :D :D :D :D :D

ive phoned a cluster of insurance companies so far. Heres what i got....

Quinn direct - £1239
hastings - No quote!!
liverpool victoria - £1385.55 tpft online
4youngerdrivers.co.uk - £1385 (based on 5000 crappy miles £250 protection on audio,£250 on fone, courtesy car.last 3months free, 1year intro offer, after 1st year it will be like 2NCB)
1stclickinsurance - £1402 1year intro offer aswell.

The guy from 4youngerdrivers was trying really hard to sell me that insurance saying its a great offer blah blah, even though its only 5000miles and its over £100 more then quinn direct. perhaps if i rung him back i could haggle more off of him? What does everyone reckon, but that 5000miles, no way is that the average mileage!

yea i know, sucks being a guy (but only for this reason  ). I just did a quote online from tesco, £2400 fully comp! or £2043 tpft!!! waaay too much.
And the thing about the online tesco quote is that the car has to be at least £1000 in value. When i do my quotes i say its worth about £200 or so.
1.3 LX, 5door, just over 80,000miles :bonkers:

check admiral, they should give you a low quote. Also fully comp is gonna cost you a lot, if the car isn't worth that much just get tpft.

Also if you register yourself as main driver and have a 2nd driver put on the policy (who's been driving longer and a few years ncb), the price will be cheaper.

What about if i was a named driver? Are there any problems with that etc.Is it only direct line that gives No Claims discounts to named drivers?

I tried a quote with asda, they couldnt get any lower then £2000. My dad is going to have a word with his insurance broker and see if he can get a deal off him, if not, ill have to get that insurance with quinn-direct for £1239 :x :x

I dont think anywherre would giver me under £1000.
considering 2 of my friends who both dont have pass plus.

ones a girl with a 2003 punto activ sport = £1400 fully comp.
ones a boy with a mk4 1.4 VW polo = £2500 fully comp(i think).

bith my age at 19
(obviously im not going to take fully comp, not worthit)

Mate that is PROPER high. I'm 20 and paying £1400 on a FRST and i live in kingston with 0yncb. (I have 3 years driving experience though).

I'm with Bell. Give them a ring. Norwich Union do good quotes with pass plus too. I recon you should be paying more around 800-900 for tpft.

i'm paying 590, but i put on an additional driver to the policy who has years of exp which is why there is a drop in price (my 1st car, so i got no ncb). mine is a 92 fiesta 1.4 LX but i need to contact the insurance company (admiral) about some mods so the price will go up.

That's what I did with mine, put my dad on and the quote went down £100. Weird.

Either way you havn't said how old you are, your ncb and where you live

I need that so i can drive down and get the road tax
