Your car's too new and won't pass an MOT (emmissions) on carbs.

This month's Fast Ford had a tidy mk4 Escort running a 1.8 zetec on carbs with Dunnel 2d ignition, they quoted around 140Bhp IIRC.

Nasty stopping point from Ade though :( Emissions are done by the oldest major component (I think) so

old car + new engine
or
new car + old engine
and obviously
old car + old engine

would get you the easier emissions requirement.

ABP Motorsport (i think thats the name) do a Jackson Supercharger; fitted, set-up and all internal work done for 3250 pounds for the focus 1.8 (don't know if it could be modified) but thats about how much you'll be looking at, and thats for a 40% percent increase.

If Stu meant £250 that's so cheap that I'd be very suspcious. The labour alone should be more than that!

I do mean 3250 pounds............installed XP quickly and its installed with an american keyboard so ain't got a pounds sign and everything else seems to be in different places.........ah well.

Have a look at http://www.ffoc.co.uk its the ford focus owners club, they seem to be ones who like supercharging.
