rocker cover, breather and cps remoevd

both cams removed
cam followers removed
cylinder head and bits laid out
block all set for stripping
underneath the sump looks like this
oil pickup and windage plate taken off
pistons and rods out

looking down the boresat crank and oil spray jets
water pump pulley and crankshaft pulley taken off
the two idler pulleys removed

with the crank removed you can see the oil spray jets and half of the main bearing shells

Well I'll be damned! I'll put my hand up and admit I didn't know the Zetec had oil spray jets like that! I thought it only had spray nozzles on the conrod! Quality! Good pics Ben

sphinx cheers mate
exhaust manifold was bought off ebay, for a n/a focus.
inlet manifold is a rover m16 customised for zetec engine and ofab management.
its from a automatic mondeo estate car
yeah just sold this zetec turbo engine which was built using calibra turbo pistons on standard rods
but my new engine will be a better spec
its a tubular manifold from the states, its intended for a n/a focus but im going to adapt it to suit my t34 turbo

any reason behing this? my thoughts are why would you build such a good spec engine and use an "old" turbo, sure you would get better results from one of the GT series.

cost of the gt series turbo compared to the t34 is the main reason, the t34 is still a great turbo (ideal for my planned power output) and i already had a downpipe for it in the garage.

i think i know the exhaust manny you bought, how does the down pipe line up with the 1.8 sump pan if you know?
bearing in mind its on a mondeo the actual pan should be at a different place on the engine to the fiesta, so if the downpipe didnt fit the mondy chances are it will fit the fezz.
lots of rambling with a question in there somewhere
cheers
