Fit smaller wheels, remove spoilers, remove interior, remove dash, remove unnecessary bodywork panels (I especially like removal of tailgate, doors, bonnet, wings and roof).

Try adding bits from an rs1800 for more power such as cams, throttle body, ecu etc.

Dan :)

Not without cams and throttle body, and a couple of other bits to boot :)

i have a 2i 16v matey, despite what people say, i have a full system from ahsley (50 quid :D ) super chip, induction, 2.0 mondeo throttle body and the 2.0 tb make the diff, but you need an rs1800 or escort xr3i 16v ecu mine has a chip so i havent bother but i [ERRR] be loads nicer with a 130 ps ecu, next steo would be a fast road cam kit, i will be getting rs1800 fast road cams for mine soon so that should take her around 130-135 bhp if i ever get the rs1800 ecu,
basically to make her rs1800 spec(ish)
rs1800 ecu/ escort xr3i 16v ecu
2.0mondeo throttle body(or rs1800/ xr3i 16v)
rs1800/xr3i 16v cams
there are some other differences but that is the main ones that you can do yourself and then you should see 125bhp ish

The sump is very heavy.

Drill it to save a bit of weight, same on the block.
