Zetec S Turbo Conversion

Postby miniheffer on Sat May 03, 2003 6:48 pm

I was wondering if anyone here knew the company and their website/telephone no. that can do a 40bhp turbo conversion for the year 2000ish+ Fiesta Zetec S?
The company was featured in a Redline magazine that dates back to June last year I think, if this helps!

Any help would be great,

Nick.

Severn Valley Motorsport have also done atleast one of these conversions but not sure that their prices would be £2000 ish.

Yeah its Vanaaken, they do the turbo conversion for the Zetec-S for about 2k'ish. taking standard power to 135 - 140bhp using low boost.

Oh yea i've also heard through the grapevine that Van Aaken will be discontinuing this Zetec-S Tubo conversion. Whether this is true or not be best to call them.

This is true Chum !! I spoke to them a few weeks ago and he said they will be stopping the conversion in the next few months as it is a lot of work for them to fabricate all the parts in house and fit, they are doin about 3 a week !!
But they are stopping it to concentrate on a Supercharger for the Z-S ! he told me, but it wont be available till next year sometime.

lol I think he meant around the year 2000, not £2,000. What power gain are they looking for out of the supercharged conversion?

The conversion takes about 3/4 days and costs a bit over 2K !! and does take it to 140bhp, but he didnt have much details about the supercharger i can imagine it would be about the same, but I think I'm going for cams instead and maybe some lafin gas !

Dorset that just goes to show the Van Aaken are just in it for the money and would rather sell a "bolt-on" product than custom make bits.

thats poo. I am thinking of buying a zetec-s in the next couple of months. Do u think that they may still do the odd one or two after that?
What other conversions could see a similar power gain for no more money than van aaken?
Would the supercharger be better than the turbo conversion?

I think it costs about 1200 quid last time i checked.

mini don't despair if they do not have the parts for such a conversion i'm SURE you'll be able to get the work done elsewhere. :)

Exhuast, Filter, Cams and Chip should see you with 130ish bhp on a zetec-s, thats an alternative! :D
