Sunny,
Do you have any idea what 178.8mph feels like in a Fiesta? 2000 lb of pressure per square inch per second pushing back on your face. It feels like god himself is trying to rip the skin off your skull while someone lands a 747 on your chest.

A most excellent and tongue-inspiring suggestion, my good man, indeed. May I suggest also, for your delectation, encapsulation of small pieces of cooked pig and/or pig skin, and a delicate topping consisting of a gratin of hardened cow's milk.

right, i'm no mechanic but i thought mk1 escorts (and all rwd cars) engines ran from top to bottom and the zetec engines were for fwd cars and so run from side to side. does this make any difference?

also, if wrc engines had no limiters on (for emitions and stuff) i've been told they would run over 500bhp (i know they are 2.0, but its close enough) but a wrc costs about £500,000 to put together :???: :???: :???:

another thing, why stop at a 1.8 running conventional fuel? that rx7 on the cover of max power you were talking about needs special additives to run at 101 octane or summat like that and it "only" has 380bhp, so why dont you run ethanol like top fuel dragsters?

dont get me wrong, i'm not having a dig but having seen your reasonings for doing this engine convertion, i think you should have taken it 1 step further, thats all.

Look u guys are obviously all amateurs. U gotta start from the begining (don't start a which came first chicken or the egg thing either!! ) I've bred chickens for years, i read a few books on it at uni once, and have discovered that by adding by-carbonate of soda to their 'feed' they will produce an ever EGGspanding egg, which in theory gives me the potential to produce an infinite sized omlette.

'f**k the pod, see u all on the playing field for an egg and spoon race. PS i got a secret uprated shell in development for this one. Let's hope no-one POACHES (sorry!) my idea

Nice to see someone here isn't obsessed with omlettes.

Yes, if you went to PJ Motorsport and said 'build me a 500bhp Zetec' they would quote you many many thousands of pounds (after they'd stopped that annoying little laugh that is characteristic of Sunny). If you have a bit of ingenuity, you can often do things cheaper yourself. Why pay a cowboy builder to come and put up new facia boards when you can do it yourself far cheaper, and knowing you've done it properly?

You're right in saying that the Zetec is usually mounted transverse, but it will fit more or less straight into the Mk1, but a different gearbox is needed. This isn't really a problem as a standard gearbox would never take the power anyway. We were going to get a T5, but me0u021e reckons he's found a better gearbox thats cheaper (yes, cheaper and stronger - no point paying £1000 when something else can do the same job for about £50).

But look eh? PECKtel? who u tryin to kid? All they do is take a standard chicken and adjust parts that are alredy there. I'm talking a whole new chicken here, not just adjusting the wings, etc. I can't tell u how i do this yet all i can say is it'll walk all over your battery chicken. In fact 'f**k it, i'll even breed it in a 'whore-house instead of a hen house just to take the pi$$ :Q

Oh klown got mixed up on the box, £300 for a brand new T5 never been fitted and a cut down atlas rear diff with LSD in it £50. Dunno about the atlas though been offered a drag diff for £50 aswell, dunno how the drag one will do the road driving though thats all.

Car will pass mot. Thats what tuning is for, a car runs perfectly when within mot standards, if its out it runs cr&p.

Ah Jon, that is the fundamental question I can not answer at the moment, not because it can't be done but because I haven't sorted out patent on it all yet, you will get full details on it all as soon as that is sorted. i did say earlier any questions but that.

Sunny here posting trash again, thought so, hes sooooo cool. Look sunny had enough of you and your "blah blah blah childish remarks" have you read the stuff you put up? This post is about zetec turbos, you can't comment on it as you don't have one. The only thing you need to say is "yes I'll race this summer", unless you are still running scared, don't try and avoid this question again, will you race?

My first comment on my engine:

So does he build a 1.8 turbo zetec 16v? That runs 3bar boost with the engine turned off? Well when you play the game you turbo your car properly. People have to spend alot to hold boost in whilst using it. Well I drop the compression right down to about 5:1, strap on a big turbo compressor, put in some long shallow cams, gas flow the head, write a program to control the lot and bobs your uncle, masses of power from a tiny engine, we talk 450hp easy. Not really for a fiesta that one unless you like eating driveshafts and gearboxes, but get a "RWD"er, slap in a cossie box and capri diff with a set of wide rims, kills most things, apart from figther jets and f1 cars.

sunnys responses:

Nah! Not Everyone!

my response:

As to the std ecu comment, your ecu is std, probably got a different CPU in it (a chip to anyone that doesn't know). The "chip" doesn't contain an uprating on the memory so therefore that is the limiting factor. Run your car off a laptop and bobs your uncle, faster, more variable, more tuneable "chip"

sunnys response:

If your referring to me on this one then your totally wrong - std ECU - Whats one of them????

I am sure theres a few people that know what I am talking about.
Sunny.

I respond:

So Sunnyfrst, what engine management system do you run on your car then?

He responds:

Pectel Managment

Then I questioned:

Now I'm interested in this last response in relation to his previous quote.

There are a few options here:

a) He took his car to pectel and they re-wrote their managment system for him and gave him a one off system with loom and sensors.

b) He took a std (standard) ecu and loom off a different car and put it in his fiesta.

personally I'd go for the latter.

Who knows what he is talking about anyway?

His response:

me0u021e judging by your posts you know NOTHING!
fact : You can ALWAYS spot the idiots a mile of judging by the level of cr@p they post
Get a life, you don't know me or anything about my car and it's managment.
I bet you drive a Nova (even worse you wish you drove a Nova)!
Looking back at some of the things you've posted in this thread makes me laugh my a55 off!

Get a life will ya!
Simple answer to all of this.....your just jelious that your car 'probably a nova' aint as quick as most of the old grans that live in your area.
You never told us what you drive!? - but then again who really gives a cr@p. A guy can drive the best and fastest car in the world however if he aint got a life and has the mentality of a 2 year old then it's obviously no point is there!
You've already made quite an immpression with most people on this site regards to your lack of life and mentality!

I bet everyone used to pick on you and you used to sit on your own in school. What am I talking about you probably still are at school!

So from this we see who started the "arguement abuse throwing session".

Anymore questions? (sorry if I missed any, any you really want answering are better e-mailed to me)

oh deary me mou23424324.
Anyone can get quotes and mix them all up and claim to correct people. Look at what you have posted. I could get a whole load of quotes and post them in correct order etc but I simply aint got the time unlike you who has sooo much of it on your hands. It seems to me that you still havn't picked up on a couple of hints and facts from previous posts in this thread (when I said 'what is standard managment? = I thought that you would be clever enough to realise that I was reffering to you that I don't have standard managment - but obviously you didn't click on (now theres something new! - not exactly the sharpest of knives in the drawer are we! )
You told me to look at the subject of this thread and notice that it is called 'Zetec Turbo' (thanks for reminding me)....You say that I don't have a Zetec Turbo and thats why I can't comment....eermmmm yeah ok (another one of your super accurate predictions!)
Please carry on - This is getting rather amusing now watching you and your false predictions regarding your engine figures and what you know about my engine (which clearly isn't alot! )

I had to post this but will go back to read only as your always right meo2321312 (as proven) and I havn't got time to argue.

Oh and have a great day

Could everyone pleasecheck pages 1 and 2 to see that my last post did in actual fact place comments by me and sunny IN ORDER and not as sunny said "MIXED UP".

OK standard management, does your engine managment SYSTEM (as a whole) come from another car, or is it a modified version, or one that is COMPLETELY NEW? Is the "chip" a standard one REPROGRAMMED or PROGRAMMED as in would it work in another car? (as in the car would "go" but run $hit) I did ask what system you ran before and you said pectel (as previous post shows) so I took it that it was standard sorry if your answer to this corrects me.

You said I didn't have an engine as there is no dyno chart to PROVE IT. Well being as you ALSO HAVEN'T posted one, I used YOUR assumption that NO DYNO CHART MEANS NO ENGINE.

Oh and can EVERYONE NOTICE the fact that sunny "avioded" the question AGAIN. Hmmmm, can he be one to JUDGE others on QUESTION ANSWERING, when he HIMSELF "by passes" questions, so blatently posted it is sick?

Oh and I haven't "PROVEN" anything yet sunny, must be one of you "ASSUMPTIONS" that I had.

I will have a great day "laughing" at your "childish" responses, get to the point and answer the questions please.

me0...

Back to the email being posted on a web site tho - the point was that the address in the public domain anyway. Mine is too. You could send me abusive poo - I wouldn't thank you for it but you could.

In reference to your "abuse me with mail" comment no the servers don't. However, if you post something on a public forum such as ft and your email address is on there too - it's just tough if people want to reply to your comments personally.

You said peeps mailed you and you set the record straight. Great. I think (trying to remember what was said and i'm too idle to scroll back) you said about posting copies of your convo and I said cool so long as it isn't just a tirade of abuse (ie a sl@gging match). I didn't suggest it was you going off on one at Jim, I just said that I didn't think the board users would want to see a slanging match.

And finally....

Yeah I got a car (Fiesta Woo! !) but no I dont wanna race it - its not a car built for racing anyway, besides, nearly everyone else on here would beat my times anyway ! LOL !

I'll be down at the pod to see for myself tho - your project DOES sound interesting...

what my point here was do you (me0) really think that you can compare your "engine" with people who have made a living through the same and have PROVED they can build very reliable engines, each time pushing back the boundaries in tuning. if this is "your" first engine and if "you" are carrying out ALL the work yourself then i am sorry, my opinion leans the other way. i do not for whatever reasons believe that you can build a RELIABLE engine (as described) without the assistance of experienced engineers (i do not mean lecturers or lab assistants).

the above is not questioning whether you have the ability to build an engine just the ability to build this RELIABLE 1.8. Zetec Turbo running at 3-4 bar and pushing 400-500bhp.

P.S. I'd be the first in line to ogle and admire the engine if it did make it to the Pod.

Just a little question if you wouldn't mind meu? You say that you wont disclose facts about your engine due to patents pending on it right? Surely you would know this is a very BAD idea because anyone can simply go to the patent office get your plans and reverse engineer your design, changing one thing and then calling it their own....legally! Ask any business student about the downfall of Xerox to Canon and Xerox's 3000 patents and you'll realise that patenting doesn't do anything!

So you might as well tell us if that's yer plan!

OK I checked page 1 & 2... and while you didn't mix the posts up, you did put a twist on them. There were a good deal of posts between your posts and Sunny's 'replies'. In fact Sunny wasn't replying to your posts at all, he hadn't said nowt for a while and THEN he interjected after a lot more had been said.

I've also got another thing to say. You said your first post on this topic was 'So does he build a 1.8 turbo zetec 16v?...'. It wasn't. Your first post on this topic was:

'WHAT!!!!????? 2.5K for a pooty turbo conversion! I could do it for half that amount and it would still blow a 2.5K job into the ground!'

which was one hell of an arrogant way to say what you wanted to say. You looked down your nose at turbo conversions, rubbished someone else's work (one of the most respected of the Fiesta modifying community, to boot), rubbished someone else's advice, and even managed to throw a boast in there. And then you complain about people jumping down your throat.

OMELETTE UPDATE
for all you omelette fans out there still listening

Took my 2002 model Omeleturbo with Pecktel management to a cruise in some town in the midlands... it was called burton or summin... there were some nice omelettes there...

Also had a race wit a pancake today, it was close but I managed to nip ahead of him out of a roundabout, there was a slow-moving frittata in his way and I got past him, after that he just couldn't keep up and he was history. I'm tellin ya, his egg timer was up, man!

So was I correct on the not mixed up fact then? Yes. I've built engines before and had tips from VERY influential people in the manufacturing business of engines. try a 1.6 cvh carb escort that runs 140hp 135lb/ft torque and beats a 195 erst. Thats one I fully built from scratch for £300 still going strong 20,000 miles later and 2 MOTs have been passed. I'd say that was reliable AND cheap. I've helped and listened to people that have erst that smoke 270hp cossies into the ground with mods that cost peanuts, you justy have to know EXACTLY what to do.

As for the pooty turbo comment I was pissed off that day because people had been chatting blah blah spending this amount on doing some pooty conversion, you get the picture, he is obviously good at building engines, but I bet it don't COST him £2500 to make it for you does it?

Oh and my dad is a european patent attourney.
