ZS rear beam & frst coilovers

Postby sweeny on Mon Mar 21, 2005 12:06 pm

I've searched but cant find an answer to this. Ive seen the one in the "FAQ & Guide" section but the donor car is an SI, and i believe a frst setup is different.

Im thinking of getting some coilovers for my frst, but will be upgrading to a zs/puma rear beam soon.

Will the frst coilovers go straight on the zs rear beam, or will i need to get different coilovers to suit the rear.

If anyone knows of any links then please post them as i cant find any  .

Thanks.

James.

I'm sure that they'll fit straight on, as long as its a ZS beam. If its a puma beam then you need to make sure its not a fork type suspension beam.

Another Q mate, with the zetec s rear beam, would 15's say on 195's foul on the arches?

Cheers.

depends on how low thw car is  and if you use the focus disc's the wheels will stick out 20-30mm more each side so be prepared for that and arch work if you wanna go real low

the focus discs only make the car wider by 5mm either side over the standard drums

i think the beam is essentially the same width

The beam is the same width, but the ZS drum or Focus stub axles make it another 10mm wider per side, then if you have the disc setup the disc itself adds another 5mm per side.
