Whats going on with the paint in this pic ?

have they painted the quarter with the grey moulding in place ? :-?

clark i think whats happened is whoever took them off wasnt very carefull and its just taken the laquer off both side as well

dontpannic :Thats better :) Pretty much how my car was when I got it, however mine was accident damage rather than snapped brackets. I could never find the rear speaker plugs in mine to had to run new cables down either side of the car. Not a bad idea to do that anyway really.

i have it on the drivers side but the other side i think has been cut down. its a zs so it definately has the wiring

You would be best of to refit the original side mouldings to hide this tbh.
Make it look more original and also helps in cars parks from creating dents from careless people. :)

bought the interior map light upgrade from ebay a few week or 2 ago bbut took ages to come because of the snow
i went for the one with the extra bit on the front which is for some kind of sensor i think i could be wrong if someone could tell me what its for that would be good
Image
old

new

and the bigger thing my new wheels, theyhave been dry stored for 15 years by the previous owner and have never been fitted so are brand new only very minor marks from storage. the centre caps i dont think are original but they do fit secure and flush so may be wrong. they are 15"x7J, which is what i wanted, and the ofset is et13 so got some nice poke.
the make in unknown but says made in england so could possibly comps. if anyone knows?
are exactly what i wanted euro not silly wide different to the ford scene, enough said piccies

will stay up in my loft until next year
what ya think

I think they need tyres  They look nice :Q

As for the sensor on the interior light, I think it's something like an infra red sensor for remote locking?

Damn they look good! Prefer them without the centres I think.

Look like the offset may create too much poke though... Will be interesting to see once you get tyres on them.

Have they got any other markings on them?

think the centre caps with the indent smoothed out would look better. too much poke steve? wouldnt want any more but id rather have the lower ofset than 8j and scrubbing everywhere, some more 165/ 50's i think :bonkers:
as for markings just says the size ofset and made in england, i will ask on wheel whores sometime they always seem to know

Yeah, the sensor is for infra-red central locking before they introduced RF. Ideally you'd have wanted to get one without the sensor but no worries :) Wheels look good, not sure on the amount of poke though! Have to have some serious stretch on the tyres!

love them wheels! leave the caps off though imo, they ruin the motorsporty kinda look, but if that aint your thing

Like the title says, these are "show wheels", so i expect the zs wheels will still be used a fair amount, at least 'till the show season starts up again.

its a euro thing mainly jon, they have such nice wheels that if you run them during the winter with all the salt and stuff on the road they get ruined, so its better to have a set you dont care about for winter, thats exactly what im doing as the polished dish would be ruined by march, better off in the loft

I would love a Mk5 mate. But don't like the bog standard ones. 1.25 and all that... ZS would be my option. But, obviously for insurance purposes, I couldn't afford it. My mate has an Imperial Blue one, he pays nearly £4,000 a year. Unreal! He's 19 by the way lol....

Tell me about it. But he is 19 and only been driving for like, 8 months maybe? He bought his for £900 with 108k on the clock. That's the trouble with the ZS, you can't find one with lowish milege, always high! They are great cars. I have 1NCB, nearly 2. I might see how much it'll cost for me too insure one. Should be fun!

£700 is sooo good. Who you with pal?
