bakewell001 :jonyb4 ::lol: comical, why was steve undoing the back wheel for?
Toby has 4 braided brake lines so we were going to change the rears too, but then Tony changed his mind
being 2 hours late to the bluewater meet was the reason

I was surprised the sheer weight of all the welds on that car didn't crush the poor jack.

Those jacks are bloody crap to be honest! Ive broken a couple before. The weak point of them is the little white bit which the tread winds though, those on the ones ive had have always snapped while lifting a car up when ive not had access to a trolley jack.
Stupid things! lol

Re: ZS - few small things 11/2/11
fitted the rear braided lines today and already the brakes feel much better, think we didnt fully bleed the brakes last sunday in the rush.
discs are slightly warped so ordered some new discs yesterdat, and they turned up today
didnt get time to fit them today as run out of light
also bought the updated version of the heater controles which came on the latest mk5's and probably puma. also got a sport ka gearknob which is the same as the puma ones. a lot smaller than i thought it would be but really nice to use.
difference between the 2 isnt much just a few little extra icons around the dials,
new one on top old underneath
and all fitted along with the gearknob
and before anyone says anything a new headunit is on the cards its what came with the car

I think it's the same setup just more symbols. If you position the older looking one half way between the 2, you'll get half way between the 2 etc.

Yeah at least the noise was an easy fix too, if it was the longest bolt in history.
Hope my front wing is an easy fix too Come to mention it, that wing is dented and paints coming off too

Re: ZS - boot floor finished 14/2/11
as there was good weather today i felt i had to do something on the car so decided to finish off the boot floor underside. didnt finish it before as it envolved thaking the back box down and getting the heatshild off.
glad i did leave it for another day as it tok forever to get the heatshild off as the things that were holding it on had rusted to the heatsheild, luckily i didnt need a new heatshild.
before were there is a square which i coudlnt do
after all painted up and polished back box
and all back together
all that left to do now is the bit between the bootfloor and fuel tank and the exhaust tunnel which will only get done if i ever take the exhasut off
have decided to try and sort some bits out on the car that need doing rather than ignore them and buy other things.
bought some zs centre caps which will be painted black when they arrive so i dont have a space in my wheels

That sounds like a good plan mate
Looking good so far, would like one of these as a run around but too many cars at the minute and running out of places to put them lol

Yeah it's a custom colour, but you may have seen it on the new 2011 ford sheboygan, also possibly some old lada may have come in this colour. The guy at halfords wasn't sure
