A lada is a cheap looking American sedan? New one on me. I always thought it was/is a Russian outfit.

Lada is the brand, which model is the question? Riva, Niva, Sheboygan?

right steve came round on sunday and we went o halfords without a colour in mind to spray the caps. originally they were going to be black but has already been done so in the end i chose cream and we went for the lada cream.
results
Image
and on the car
Image

i think it works really well picture doesnt really do it justice, the bump strips will now be going this colour as well :Q

also went to the scrappy tuesday got a few bits main thing i wanted was an airbox, these are the finds
Image
i was told by the zsoc that any airbox fits as long as its off a zetec s engine from any of the sizes and they are identical. wrong
luckily the orignal bottom half off mmine was still in the bay acting as a air flow to the cone.
difference between the 2, 1.25 on the left and zs on the right. the zs bottom has an extra hole for more air
Image
theres also another sensor which the 1.25 doesnt have so had to drill a hole and fit that, duno what its for but its on the 1.7 puma engine as well, can be seen just above the intake pipe on the air box.
Image
also found the rubber clip that i need to hold the jack in the boot as again it didnt come with it so kept falling out and had to be put behind the drivers seat. also got a mint wheel brace as the one with the car got completey rounded of by a previous owner and was usless.

thoughts?

Thats the Inlet Air Temperature sensor. My 1.25 had one, but my 1.7 doesn't....

not a fan of that beige at all

me and my mate found something interesting out

the 1.7 puma has a second cold air feed that goes deep into the wing, it goes behind the arch liner down to past the side repeater, its made of a thick fabric, looks like a general after market one in a way

hes selling that tubing if your interested, should lip into your 1.6 box

All the tubing is actually just acting a resonator. Ford did away with it on the FRP and just made a straight cold air feed pipe that pointed down towards the bottom of the front bumper...

It has less resonators than 1.25/1.4 airbox.

It has two. I know, I've removed them both (as I've removed the whole airbox)

I didn't say it wasn't a feed, I just said that the extra tubing acts as a resonator, and the FRP airbox is better design.

The extra hole on the airbox usually has a small resonator on it and isn't usually open to the air - it still uses a similar cold air feed design (to behind the front grille).

Not sure on the cream myself. Its a lovely colour but I don't think it has a place on your car. Will have to see it in the flesh I think.

thanks jaime means a lot

i already have that extra feed which is obviously why i kept the orginal bottom end.
rob is that the resonator that ive heard of on the zsoc, they usually take them out, they say its only to create a nicer sound

will be more cream parts at some point
need to service it soon

hb69 :That airbox is made of plastic, just so you know

i wasnt sure if it was or some kind of compostie material :bonkers:
