Hi,
Im looking into buying an RS1600i and don't know much about the CVH blocks. I understand the bottom end from a 2.0 Zetec is near enough a bolt on job. What would be the advantages of this on a highly modified top end? How much power would it see on a standard top end compared to the standard bottom end? What is the compression ratio of the zetec bottom end? Also how much do places cost to source and fit the bottom end and what companies?
Many thanks,
James

to be honest mate you can get 350 bhp+ from a cvh with allot of work and a hell of allot more from a zetec! you might be better off going for one or the other. zvh can work well though but a bit pointless in my opinion!

Hi there,
I've now moved this to the Tuning forum, where it will hopefully generate more specialised responses for you.

Hi, thanks im new here and didnt really know where to post.
Metalhead I see your point, im thinking keep the cvh non turbo and aim for over 200bhp. Rather than go completely zetec id want to retain the standard top end to be different.

its going to be verry hard to get 200 bhp from a cvh mate seriously id think about a zetec on throtle bodys with good management would be close! as good as the cvh is, n/a it would be a pain if not imposible to get 200 bhp from even with a zetec head.
