RAF Alconbury (decomissioned)    |    Cambridge    |    20/10/00

Organised and hosted by Revs magazine, to be featured in the Jan / Feb 2001 issue. Not a huge turnout with about 25 cars in attendance, a lot of people unable to make it due to work commitments or incomplete cars. Most mental cars of the day were Ian's "Type R" recently dyno'd at 350bhp, and Paul J's 2.1 16v Zetec, which did 2 laps on quarter of a tank before snapping a driveshaft!

6 cars were chosen by Revs for spec and photos, Stuart's RS 1800, Zoe's RST, Owbow's MK1 Rallycar, Ian's Type R, my RST and Paul J's RST.

The track was about 15 cars wide, and quite a few spun without hitting anything. As expected with a track day, most people broke some part of the car... Casualties of the day include a melted dump valve, broken fan switch, burst coolant hose, split filler neck pipe, cracked windscreen and stone chips aplenty!!
