The plan was simple - to get together the fastest Fiestas on the planet and time them all to see who was quickest. Organised and featured by Fast Ford magazine (December 2003 Issue) at Bruntingthorpe, Leicester, which offered masses of space and a 2 mile straight for top speed runs. 14 cars attended, but as usual when you try to gather all the top players, at least two couldn't make it due to other commitments.

Starting with the top speed runs and first up was Sunny. With a laptop tweaking Mark from MADevelopments in the passenger seat he set off round the track and a few minutes later appeared in the distance, right foot planted and heading towards the timing gear at a considerable rate of knots. His first run recorded 172mph and despite having beaten his current (and the RST top speed) record, he continued round for another pass. Second run and and the numbers flashed up on the timing gear - a staggering 178mph. Further attempts were sadly not possible due to technical issues.

With such a high example set, it was impossible for anyone else to come near, so instead we concentrated on finding the limits of our own cars and having a great time perfecting launching skills and high speed handling. With perfect conditions and plenty of attempts, times improved with each run and tips and hints we shared by all.

All in all a fantastic day out and one that will be remembered for a long time. Huge thanks to Fast Ford magazine, AndyBlackFRST and Rich Si for seeing everything slotted into place.
