Wheel Spacers
Wheel spacers are steel or aluminium discs that fit on the wheel hubs and space the wheel out, making it sit further out of the arch. They are used to decrease the
offset of the wheel, or to move the wheel outwards to clear suspension components or large brake calipers. Spacers are available in 2mm increments, 3mm, 5mm, 7mm and so on. It is important to note that spacing the wheel out decreases the usable length of the wheel studs, and nothing wider than 5mm should be used without fitting longer studs.

Offset
The the distance from the centre of the wheel to the bolt face. the offset for the Fiesta, as with most Fords is 35mm (ET35). It is important to have the correct offset of wheels to prevent the wheel or tyre catching the arch, or unwelcome handling characteristics such as tramlining. It is possible to decrease offset, but not increase it. Decreasing is done by fitting spacers. For example a wheel with an offset of 38mm can be decreased to the correct 35mm by fitting 3mm spacers. See Wheels for more information.
